All, Ramadan is here again and for those of you who have not had the joy of experiencing this time please be aware of a few safety tips:

The roads are, to say the least, even more exciting than usual at this time of year. The time to watch out for is around dusk - at this point everybody rushes home to break their fast and having not eaten or drunk all day they are in a huge hurry and generally not concentrating as much as they should.

Try to avoid driving around sunset - it will save you time, aggravation and possibly your life if you just pull over or delay you trip 20 minutes or so. As soon as the sun has set and everybody has got home the roads are beautifully empty and safe. Road accidents for this time of year are truly horrendous so watch out. If you are in a taxi I would recommend you always sit in the back as this can apparently reduce your risk of injury in a crash by up to 50%.

Let's be careful out there (doo do doo, do doo do - Hill Street Blues theme tune...)
